Hypertag

Technology

Hypertag Mobile Proximity Marketing technology is based on infrared and Bluetooth content server download delivery of rich media content. When interactions take place using infrared the mobile infrared port must be in line of sight to the tag (Approx 1m). When interactions take place via Bluetooth the range is normally set at 3m maximum range to avoid inadvertent spamming or ‘Bluejacking’. The Bluetooth range can be enhanced to 35m however consumer research points to the fact that unexpected and unsolicited Bluetooth communication is not desirable and may damage a brand’s reputation rather than add value to the consumer experience.

Hypertag Wearable

Wearable Hypertags are designed to be worn by Brand Ambassadors actively promoting a brand, product or event such as sponsored sports events, festivals, music concerts, exhibitions or retail environments.

Wearable Hypertags are unique as all other available Proximity Content Servers on the market are intended for use in fixed, line-powered locations.

The ability for the Brand Ambassador wearing a Hypertag to actively engage and interact with consumers creates a second-to-none face-to-face opportunity to maximise the delivery of a campaign’s rich media content, brand message and promotional objectives.

Content may consist of ringtones, music clips, podcasts, flash files, animations, Java applications, widgets or vouchers. At the end of a campaign session, full usage data is uploaded for client report analysis. Wearable Hypertags do not require a service provider connection and are powered by batteries that last up to 16 hours. This allows brands to offer audiences free mobile content and activate rich media campaigns where there is no mobile signal or power connection.

Hypertag ‘Plug ‘n’ Play

Based on the wearable Hypertag technology, the ‘Plug ‘n’ Play standalone version is simple to deploy and has been specifically designed to be embedded in fixed location powered poster panels, exhibition stands and free standing display units in high consumer traffic areas. The ‘Plug ’n’ Play unit may also be powered for periods of up to 16 hours by battery power if required.

Network Hypertag

Hypertag has ported its in-house developed proximity content server software suite to create the market’s most advanced Proximity Marketing Solution available on the market today.

The Proximity Content Server’s role is to deliver brand experiences to consumers in close proximity to a Networked Hypertag. The ability to communicate with consumers based on their location at an optimally selected time and place makes it possible to access people at their most receptive and to tailor offers precisely to maximise response rates.

If a major proximity marketing brand campaign is run simultaneously at multiple locations, individual Network Hypertags are connected as a campaign group to a centrally managed data centre running the Hyperhub Network Management System (NMS). The Hyperhub NMS enables the remote management of a Hypertag Network group using the Internet or, if no Internet connectivity is available, via GPRS data link.

Hyperhub Network Management

The Hyperhub Network Management Service has been designed to enable Brandscape to manage major proximity marketing campaigns using Hypertags installed at multiple locations simultaneously. Individual Network Hypertags are connected as a campaign group to a centrally Brandscape managed data centre running the Hyperhub Network Management System.

Hyperhub’s flexible connectivity options enable the installation of Networked Hypertags in almost any location where mains power or batteries are available. If they are installed at locations where no Internet access available, they can be configured to automatically connect back to Hyperhub using secure links using a mobile operator’s GPRS data network.

Using the Hyperhub Management System, multiple Network Hypertags can be deployed across country borders enabling a truely global proximity marketing campaign. If security and a high Quality of Service are important, connectivity can be provided using a fully managed Internet Virtual Private Network (VPN).
